You're right, you'll have to be excused for your ingnorance..... you're
assuming I'm a lazy admin - but NO, I've had this bear thown in my lap
(no input or evaluation time) over the last week and need to get up to
productive-speed quickly...... though a novice here with EMC, I'm a
Jedi-Master in other areas and I've been contributing to numerous lists
(constructively - something you may want to try)

You picked the wrong person to make that comment to. There are a few
NetWorker gurus on the mailing list, and Davina is definitely in that
crowd. Davina's contributions to this list are both numerous and
extremely valuable. If you take a look at the mailing list archives
over the past several years, I'm sure you'll come to the same conclusion.

It's great that you're a master in other technologies and that you
contribute positively to other lists, and it sucks that you got a large
and complicated piece of enterprise software thrown at you, but as a
regular contributor to lists, you must surely understand how it looks when

- someone that's not a familiar name or email address posts to a list
- asks a very rudimentary question
- doesn't indicate that "help, I'm in a bind and got this thrown at me"
- doesn't mention what documentation they've looked at so far

On most of the lists I'm on, when that combination of factors appear
in one post, RTFM is generally the most correct response.
