Greetings, I am doing a simple restore.
I have loaded my tape from required volumes, and it loads the
volume it
wants, lets just say: Volume 2C1713, when it does a verify, it sees it
as volume 2C1717? Physically it's 2C1713, but on the verify it's
2C1717?
Does anyone know why that is? According to the index, the data I
want
is on volume
Windows Server 2003 - Backup Server
Legato: 7.2.1
Client is also 7.2.1 and is also Windows Server 2003.
HELP...Do I need to perform an Index Check? Will that resolve it?
You left out a lot of information such as the tape hardware involved,
but I suspect your tape label was printed incorrectly and the "?" is
how your tape library represents a control character. Are you
actually able to recover data off that tape? I recently encountered
the same problem and I researched it with the tech support people for
my tape library, but in my situation, the extra character is
represented in a consistent way so NetWorker can recover data from
those tapes jsut fine. If you are having a problem recovering data,
you may need to contact the tech support for your tape library and
Legato to see what your options are.
