If you're using a 2.4 series kernel, it almost certainly is the one you're
using. George could download the sg3_utils package from
http://www.torque.net/sg/
and build it (it comes with a spec file that can be used to generate an
RPM, if he has rpmbuild and a development environment installed).
Most of the utilities in the sg3 package check to make sure that they're
using the version 3 scsi generic interface.
