I've done some"undocumented/unsupported" moves of images between 5.1 environments a long time ago but forget exactly what I did.

At a high-level I was hoping to do something along these lines:

a) Using vault on the remote master server, duplicate the long retention images from tape to either a disk staging unit or a local data domain. (Yes I know this is pretty much the same as a bpimport of all images into the corporate 7.1 domain, but I do not want to do this for reasons I won't go into here)
b) "move" these images to a disk staging unit or the data domain at the corporate site
c) somehow "scan" these images into the corporate master server
d) let shorter retention images expire on the old netbackup domain and then decom and rebuild as a media server, decom the library, implement a data domain which will then deploy ost and optimized deduped replication to the corporate data domain

Basically I want to end up with these new images showing up w/o any physical media affiliation as if they were originally backed up to a disk staging unit and/or ost appliance.
