Hello Justin,

I just did a restore now using 1024 as the value for NUMBER_DATA_BUFFER
and never specified NUMBER_DATA_BUFFERS_RESTORE. However, on the
restore details I see:

Info bptm(pid=5224) using 1024 data buffers

..so it's using the value of NUMBER_DATA_BUFFERS. I've seen references
to NUMBER_DATA_BUFFERS_RESTORE in the past but I don't know, maybe if
that file is missing it will take the value from the other one (it seems).

As for the restore...the backup transfer rate was 170 MB/sec but the
restore for that was at 137 MB/sec :(

On the details:

Info bptm(pid=3548) waited for empty buffer 4074 times, delayed 8335

..I guess I'm having performance problems writing to the datastore
(RAID-5 LUN). I'm not sure if there's any more tweaking
(buffering-wise) that I could do. The other stuff I see are for
network-related buffers but the network is out of question here.

p.d. just did another restore usign NUMBER_DATA_BUFFERS_RESTORE and it
completely ignored the value there (it used the one on NUMBER_DATA_BUFFERS).
