When media is frozen it gets logged.
(System log in our case.) You could simply examine the logs each day to see
if you see any freezes and determine why at that point. i.e. Other messages
indicating the drive failed to mount or unmount the tape. Most freezes in my
experience are hardware related. Note that some media that is frozen
automatically gets unfrozen automatically on later attempts so be sure to first
verify it is still frozen before spending time investigating.

Not sure whether anyone can help here?
We have multiple environments 5.1 and 6.5 and rather a lot of
frozen media. Working through these lists now, but i'm after a better process
moving forward.
Does anyone have 'good practice' method i can adopt/adapt, anyone using
any scripts i could find useful? We have a reporting tool but moving over to
Symantec offering soon so don't want to invest any time in that.
We need a consolidated approach to deal with freezes every
day, instead of every few months.
