Misha,

You're missing a small piece of info. I am 100% Windows and 0% in
scripting knowledge. I can create DOS batch files but beyond that, I am
a slave of the GUI.

On the surface, the idea prior to this one sounded logical. Set the
backup window to open on Friday evening and set the Frequency to 85.
And like you stated Jared, I can always test it ahead of time to see if
it's going to schedule correctly.

Thanks,
Randy

Define the "easier way", please. Scripting ?

What's the stubmling block - figuring out last friday of the quarter ? -

wouldn't that be last Friday of the last month of the quarter, which is
actually known in advance.
I.e. last last Fridays of Mar, Jun, Sep, Dec - correct ?
Jan, Feb, Mar
Apr, May, Jun
Jul, Aug, Sep
Oct, Nov, Dec

In this case:

for month in 3 6 9 12 ; do
        day=$(last_friday_of $month)
        /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/bpplschedrep POLICY
QUARTER_END_SCHEDULE -incl $day
done

Where last_friday_of is your script/function you have mentioned saying
"I
can do last Friday of the month"

Or I am missing smthng ?

[Veritas-bu] Quarterly Backups and Calendar Schedule

Does anyone know of an easier way to configure a Quarterly backup
schedule to run on the last Friday of the Quarter other than going in
and manually selecting those 4 dates in the year for each policy? I can
do last Friday of the month but not last Friday of the Quarter. Just
wondering if there was an easier way.

Thanks,
Randy
