The tpautoconf command is what you are looking for :
http://support.veritas.com/docs/273483
<install_path>\veritas\volmgr\bin\tpautoconf -report_disc
Report discrepancies between detected devices and Global Database.
<install_path>\veritas\volmgr\bin\tpautoconf -replace_drive -path
drive_path
After drive hardware replacement, correct the serial number in the local
and Global Databases.
Available since 4.5 FP7 :

I am using 5.1MP4. From the Java on a solaris workstation nor on the
GUI on a windows workstation, can I find an option that Jonathan
outlined below.
The correct procedure according to the manuals is to remove the drive
and add the new one. If you don't, you get a bunch of bad entries in
the vmglob database.

This procedure didn't work last time I checked (5.1), because browse
button
didn't update serial number.
Usually I delete a drive in GUI and then add a new one with the same
parameters. If it's a shared drive a little more work is needed.
In 6.0 there is a command utility for replacing a drive, but I can't
remember the name.
pozdrawiam serdecznie

I use the GUI in Windows... Goto Devices --> Robot --> Drives. Select
the drive you replaced and goto properties. Then "browse" for the new
drive and serial.
Not sure if this works for other OS or SSO etc etc..

replaced...how do I tell Netbackup about the new serial number?
