Yep agree, and to correct my earlier post u only need worry about
/usr/openv/volmgr/database if the host was a volume database host (either
standalone or for one or more robots)

No, /usr/openv/netbackup/db/media directory. Media is 'assigned' when a
media server writes a backup to it and an entry is added to
/usr/openv/netbackup/db/media/mediaDB (each media server has its own).
Media list report (bpmedialist) extracts information from mediaDB.

Marianne

Ahh thanks, by the way when you mean save the MediaDB, you are
specifically talking about the:
/usr/openv/volmgr/database directory, where, after a media server upgrade
one would replace the contents of the server before rebuild into that
directory after a rebuild, right?
Thanks,
Justin.

Hi Justin
You were supposed to save the media server's mediaDB and restore it after
the rebuild.
You will have to rebuild the mediaDB by doing a phase 1 import of tapes.

How to build a MediaDB entry for tapes with valid images when the original
MediaDB is missing

We have ran into a problem with the media. After the media server upgrades
the tapes arent listed as assigned to the newly build media server. Only
tapes assigned are ones since the rebuild.
When you rebuild multiple media servers, are or aren't the tapes supposed
to be "assigned" to the media server after an upgrade?
Thanks,
Justin.
