Hi,

VSP as OTM is kernel drivers so you can't stop them. If a VSP file is
locked you can't do anything except to reboot and then delete it.
VSP is new and I think that veritas will fix this in the future .

Has anyone found how to remove the VSP files without re-logged on or
reboot? We have similar issue with large VSP cache files created, cannot
be deleted.

Thx. dB

Subject: [Veritas-bu] VSP and Catalog Backuos

Hi

Master Server:
Windows 2000 with SP3
NetBackup 4.5 with FP4

Description:
Catalog backups are configured to backup to tape and disk. When the
disk backup runs it fails with an error 84. The catalog are about 1.5gb
in size (small environment) and the free disk space is 8gb.On checking
the drive where the backup image is stored I discovered that the drive
was full and that 2 very large VSP cache files had been created. The
cache files could note be deleted until NetBackup was shutdown and the
system re-logged on. Once the files were deleted and 8gb of free space
was available a manual catalog backup was started and once again it
failed with an error 84 and the drive ran out of disk space. Catalog
backups to disk has been disabled and we are currently running them to a
single tape only.

Has anyone else experienced a problem with catalog backups to disk
create large VSP cache image files?
