Yes. See the description of bpstart_notify.bat and bpexit_notify.bat scripts in 
the SAG. These script files can contain anything you want to do before and 
after backups start.  It's best to disable multiplexing for classes which run 
these scripts - if you have multiple drives, the scripts will be executed 
before and after the backup of each drive, which is probably not what you want.
