Windows 2000 Server (Compaq DL380 G2) being backed up to Windows 2000
Master\Media Server (Compaq DL580).

Backups ran fine on this server for several months, the server was recently
moved and was given a new IP address. I corrected DNS entries when the
server was moved.

I am now unable to backup this server (actually just a directory on this
server is all I need to backup) as the backups exit with status 13
originally and now status 41. The backup starts fine, runs for about 2
hours and then sputters.

I updated the NIC (NC3163) drivers (Compaq drivers) on the client and have
bumped up the Client Connect Timeout and Client Read Timeout settings on the
server. Both NICs (Compaq teaming) as set to 100/Full. I found a post with
a similar problem to mine that suggested bumping up the coalesce, transmit
and receive buffers to their maximums - I did this but am still timing out.

I am receiving this error in the bkbar log on the client:

01/02/03 6:00:31 PM: [1748]: FTL - tar file write error (10054)
01/02/03 6:00:31 PM: [1748]: INF - EXIT STATUS 14: file write failed
01/02/03 6:05:31 PM: [1748]: WRN - timeout (300) while waiting for message:
'Clear Archive Bits'
01/02/03 6:05:31 PM: [1748]: INF - EXIT - status = 0

I think I remember seeing something about this before and the suggestion was
to use the Intel drivers versus the Compaq drivers but not sure on that one.

Anyone ever run into this?

Thanks,

John Glancey
