I've seen this if a media server goes down or unreachable from the master
server. It seems to scramble Netbackup's idea of who should be backing up
who, even with MUST_USE_LOCAL_DRIVE in effect.
My solution is a script that:
a) Adds any "missing" storage units
b) Checks all storage units for reachability by ping and connect to
vmd
c) Deletes any storage units that fail the check in step b
d) Restarts bprd.
The script runs every night shortly before my backup window opens. This
basically ensures that the storage unit list matches what's actually up &
running. Saves having to create a backup class for each media server.
