Hi,
I have this similar issue, however I am receiving an error code 20. There are
some sql databases that I cannot backup. It's intermittent, sometimes it's
backed up, sometimes it isn't. And it's always a different database - not the
same one every time. And sometimes all the databases on the sql server are
successful with no issues at all.
Any ideas?

I have checked that the client can see the master\media server and vice
versa and the bp commands return with the correct information.
The problem only occurs with one database out of ten that is on the server,
all of the other databases backup fine on a client and it's never the same
database or client that this problem is encountered on. Thats why it's
confusing me.
Thanks for your feedback Max.

Hi, i think you have a problem with your dns entries.
Try
bpclntcmd -hn <hostname>
and a
bpclntcmd -ip <ip-addres>
The output have to show you for -ip the servername and for -hn the ip
address.
I think you won`t get a output for the -ip thing.
Regards
Max

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Status Code 54
Currently running Netbackup 3.4.1 on an NT4 master\media server with the
latest NB_341_3 patch.
On a regular basis we have been seeing a Status code 54 on SQL Server
Class jobs. We have about twenty-five SQL Servers in this class, with at
least ten databases per server and there will always be one database that
errors with a Status Code 54, all of the other databases back-up ok.
These are full backups and the error never occurs on the same database or
the same sever.
We have changed all tape media to new ones with no success.
Below is a list of the errors from the dbclient and dbbackup logs.
lnspbck01 is our Master\media server. RRLN08 is a SQL Server client.
