single server for master/media

I have about 100 frozen tapes right now, most are being frozen due to
netbackup deeming them write protected even though they arent.

A sample from the bptm log shows:

03:44:41 [7405] <16> write_backup: FREEZING media id 000179, it is write
protected and cannot be used for backups

I can write to the tape via manually mounting it and writing to it.

I did a 'mt weof' on the tape and the unloaded it and put it back in the
library and netbackup used it just fine.

Any insights into why this is happening and how to deal with it ?
