Matthew,
The following should do it:
bpmedia -unfreeze -ev <mediaID>
Then add the following line to your bp.conf:
ALLOW_MEDIA_OVERWRITE = MTF1

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Frozen media? How to unfreeze?
I was given some dlt tapes from another group, and told they
weren't needed anymore. VNB apparently detected some data on
them, and as such, has frozen the media. Is there a way I can
'unfreeze' the media and blank the tapes through VNB to make
the dlt tapes useable?
Thanks!

media id 000076, it contains MTF1-format data and
cannot be used for backups
