Yes, we've been having a lot of problems with foreign
media, media written with other backup products. Never
suspected that running available_media might be contributing
to the condition of tapes showing up in DBBACKUP. We
thought the ALLOW_MEDIA_OVERWRITE option wasn't working
properly.

Anyone else having this problem?
I first noticed this while trying to get available_media to work.
bpmedialist wouldn't close the socket connections fast enough
so a good chunk of my tapes would show up as DBBACKUP which is
the default for available media when it can't figure out what to
do with it.
To get around this I put a sleep statement right after bpmedialist
which sleeps every 20 tapes.
Anyone have a better idea?
