While I'm not John, I am an ADIC fan, so I'll speak up here. :)
We have two 1k's, and soon to be a third. We are very happy with them, and the
local (Bay Area) service team is great. We tend to run our equipment pretty
hard, and have come up with a couple 'can't happen here' errors, but those have
been settled, and their local stocking includes (I was promised after one such
error) every single part that could cause the JB to fail, minus the chassis
itself. I think even SUN is not that well-stocked in our area. :) The robot is
also about the fastest in the business. The scalar inventories (328 slots, DLT)
in minutes, and I have to go get lunch before our 42-slot SUN ATL rebadge
finishes the power-on sequence. The Remote Management Unit (web interface) is
also very handy.
My one real quibble is the CAP is 12 slots on a library that's 328 slots, and
only half-sized, for total tape slots we could have. Hopefully their next
product will rectify this.
