Hi everyone,
I need to recover data backed up from an old EMC Cellerra filer that is no
longer available.
Networker Version: 7.3.3 on Windows Server 2003
The original filer was a EMC Cellerra, with drives and library directly
attached for NDMP Backups. This filer is now gone.
The new filer is an EMC VNX5500, with no drives directly attached. NDMP is
enabled and it worked at some point (see below)
The library and it's drives are now directly attached only to the networker
server.
Before the old filer was decommisioned (while the drives where still connected
to it) i tried to restore NDMP data to the new filer. This worked, but
obviously i did not realize the role that the old filer played at that point.
The old filer is now gone, and i need to recover some of the old data.
I tried the following command:
nsrndmp_recover -s <Networker_Server> -c <Name of old filer> - S <saveset_id>
-m <name of new filer>::<existing path on new filer> <path from saveset to be
recovered>
After some seconds, i get the following message:
nsrndmp_recover:ssid'<saveset id>': NSR server <servername>: no matching
devices on `server'
nsrndmp_recover:ssid'<saveset id>': waiting 30 seconds then retrying...
This repeats until i cancel the operation.
If i try the recover using the GUI, i get similar messages.
Is there any way to recover this data, without attaching the drives to the new
filer? If so, how would i configure this?
Please be aware that i am not very proficient using networker.
