In regard to: [Networker] Does client 7.4.2 work with a 8.0.1.5 server?,...:

I've discovered I have one client still at 7.4.2 (and 3 at 7.5.2). I am
about to upgrade my NW server from 7.6.2 to 8.0.1.5. The documentation
says that 7.5.x and 7.6.x clients are compatible with 8.x, but doesn't
mention 7.4.x.

I asked about 7.x clients against an 8.x server back when 8.x was
first released. I was fearful that we would still be running our NetWare
clients (which use a mongrel version of the 7.2.x codebase and haven't
seen an update in years).

People that had first deployed 8.x confirmed that it does still support
"oldauth", which means that any 7.x and even 6.x clients *should* still
work.

This is just a theory, but I would guess that the reason why EMC doesn't
mention 7.4.x or 7.3.x is that those clients aren't even supported
against a 7.6.x server, so they didn't feel there was any need to mention
whether they're supported against 8.x.

So while we haven't (yet) tested it in my environment, my Magic NetWorker
8-ball says "signs point to yes".
