I'm not sure this is true in our (or anyone's?) DNS configuration.
Maybe this is by configuration choice, I'm not looking at the RFCs
right now.

Are we still talking about LDAPv3 user names for NetWorker Management
Console?  If AD is a LDAPv3 compliant directory service,  and is
case-insensitive, then NMC is not a very good LDAPv3 client and should
be documented as such.
