The general question just was: Can NW do parallel Cloning from the same media?
- And to the best of my knowledge: Yes, it can.
But yaron is also right - it depends a lot on the scenario and the drive
(types) you use.
For example, if the source media is a tape, it must be unmounted before you
start multiple stage/clone processes. Most likely, you have to do this for the
(A)FTD media as well - but who will do that?
BTW - multiplexing the data on tape does not necessarily prevent shoe-shining:
- First, the client must have a very fast disk system to demultiplex the data
in real time
- Second, the recovery needs all save sets' data at the same time. If you
only recover a single stream, a multiplexed
source stream would be contra-productive.
