Re: [Networker] Minimum hardware and VCB Licensing question

Thanks for the reply. We did try VDR some months ago and it corrupted
some of our virtual machines (still testing fortunately). Strange, and
at that point we never investigated further.
As far as 7.6.2 goes, I'm worried about hardware requirements. 7.4.2
and 7.6.1 minimum hardware requirements are the same, and the system I'm
running 7.4.2 on doesn't match the minimum requirements. I'll move to
7.6.2 if I can be sure that it will run. Any experiences with that?

Big mistake going with VCB and not much of an upgrade going to VMware VDR.
We are backing up hundreds of server at multiple sites using VDR and we
are dying here waiting for the new 7.6.2 with the new VM API's. Go the
7.6.2 route for sure.
Ken feel free to call and I can answer you questions more in depth about
our experiences.

[Networker] Minimum hardware and VCB Licensing question

Just starting to investigate using VCB with Networker. We are currently
running 7.4.2 and would like to upgrade to 7.6.1 first. A few questions
if you don't mind:
1. The minimum hardware requirements for 7.4.2 and 7.6.1 are the same
(linux version) - dual core processor. We aren't running 7.4.2 on a
dual core and are wondering if we could run 7.6.1 on this box.
2. If we use VCB with 7.4.2, do we need a license for EACH VM we want
to back up, or just the VCB? How about for 7.6.1?
3. I also know that VCB will be not needed for 7.6.2 - should we just
wait for that?
Thanks in advance....
