Also make sure that you can do a successful nslookup against the reverse ip 
address of the client from the backup server.  I've run into issues like this 
when there wasn't a reverse dns entry for the client in dns.

Whenever I see that type of error, I recommend rebooting the client.

By the way, in case you are not aware of it, NetWorker 7.4.4 is no longer 
supported by EMC and Windows 2000 is no longer supported by Microsoft.
