So it doesn't sound like it matters which device you have selected when you choose that option. The result will be the same, correct?

I was referring to the 'Reset' option on a given device, not the 'Reset' option on the jukebox (tape library). Maybe it's the same thing in this case?

George Sinclair What does 'Reset' do? All the other options are self-explanatory. I don't wanna try before I know what it does.

...something I've wondered, too. nsrjb -HE maybe?

In the NMC online help, I found the following verbiage which, while not specifically about that option, seems to support my idea:

"If the disabled drive is part of a library, it
might be necessary to reset the device. To do this:
From the command prompt, change the path to the
directory that contains the Sun StorageTek EBS binaries. Type this command: nsrjb -HE"
