In my experience:
Pros for Windows:
- If no other UNIX in house, easier to maintain the system itself.
Cons for Windows
- Probably worse performance than Linux on the same hardware
- More difficult to do maintenance scripting
Other than those the end users/clients will not see much difference.
I woudl stay with Linux if I was him. Just ugrade to a more modern version.
