Stan,

I like the "light weightedness" of nwadmin. And it's certainly
not just for monitoring. I like its simplicity.
(I like some docs in plain-text and not word-processed, to,
especially email.)

I like the Networker console, too. Maybe I'm just compulsive.
I like to get places by foot, bicycle, motorcycle, and cars.

Nwadmin is like a monitor that allows you to act if you see
something you don't like. It /feels/ like an extension of monitoring.
To me, monitoring feels like a small portion of what the
console does in 7.4.

I don't try to engage in either/or arguments. I really love the
word "both." Either that, or I'm really a luddite and can't stand
progress.

And so I posted a way by which anyone who wants to still can.

Matt

Definitely one of my pet peeves, and I think I even pissed off one of
the EMC/Legato engineers when I had the chance to talk to him about it.

They still believe that the 7.4 version is more superior, but quite a
few people still enjoy the 7.2 version.

We simply keep a copy of it on one of our old servers, and use it from
there. We still have to use 7.4.4 for some things, you can't get around
that. But for plain old monitoring, 7.2 is the one we use.

Maybe I am missing something, but if you just monitor with nwadmin, why not
use nsrwatch instead.

Maybe I am in the minority, but I like the NetWorker console, especially for
media management. I still use nsrwatch though for monitoring most of the
time.
