Even though you use a dedicated network for your backup, networker will
always use your default network for metadata traffic. This kind of traffic
is very low.
But if you want to use you backup network for metadata, you need to tweak
your host file. EMC has a KB specifically for this if you use a multihomed
exchange box.

As for my part the metada going through the defualt network doesn't bother
me that much so that I don't need to bother with the host file
