After searching the archives I did not found any really usefull stuff about this. I would like to know if anyone has done some degree of integration of the NetWorker notification/reporting into Openview already.

It has been recently discussed that the SNMP module is not worth his price which I agree with. What I am looking for is at least the possibility to feed notifications like succesfull/failed backup jobs into Openview and probably also how much data has been backed up in jobs.

If anyone has done this already or has any suggestions on how to do it without the SNMP module, please share it with me.

You can basically achieve any level of integration as you are willing to ... NetWorker's support for custom notifications with custom actions means you can get any notification data into any application you want, with some massaging.

In the past I've done scripting to integrate NetWorker notifications with BMC Patrol, and I've had customers do similar scripting for OpenView.

If you know a good scripting language, such as Perl, or are prepared to learn, it won't take you long to get to where you need to be.

Preston.
