Hi All,
We have i2000 with IBM LTO3 drives with 3 i/o blades. One of the blade is
dedicated for Tru64 5.1b-SP6 machine. We are facing a problem on
Tru64 storage node that one device randomly at a time disappearing from the
host side intermittently. Either waiting for a while or resetting the i/o
blade are our workarounds to bring the device back. We have a full backup at
weekend and it is about 1.2 TB. Whenever this problem happen, the backup
hangs because of the disappeared device. As the group timeout is 0, we can
see the hanged group even next day.

Other i/o blades with 8 drives are working perfectly without . Even Tru64
machines completed most of the backups successfully.

Networker Server 7.2.1 is running on Solaris 10 - Sunfire V890
Networker Client is 7.2.1 is running on Tru64 5.1b-SP6.

Quantum library firmware;
MCB 540A and IBM LTO3 73P5

Please note that there is no error message on /var/adm/messages on Tru64.
Moreover no error on i2000 library and SAN switch. We changed the zoning,
Quantum Lun Mapping and using other HBA, switch, path, but still facing same
problem. The connected disks through same HBA are working fine. Only tapes
are disappearing intermittently.

Any idea?

Thanks & regards,
Mesut
