Hello,
Are you doing cmd line restores ? which OS is your client\server ?
Networker version? generally, you just do a saveset restore via
networker user in GUI and choose your saveset and make sure you have
tapes, re-direct the restore locally or to another server via restore
options, including, options to overwrite, rename etc and execute.
If you need to restore just one file then use directed recover ( client's
on-line file index should be browsable).
If the new server has same client name as old & appropriate permission ,
restore will be fine as long as name resolutions are working and
networker client is installed ( There may be an variation in this process
if your OS is other then Windows)
Detial instructions are in the admin guide.
HTH

Client Restore

Can someone send me directions or whitepapers on how to do a client save
set restore to a new server? I cannot get on EMCs site due to a password
error at this time.

Thanks
