I don't know about "long-term" wrong, but I think dealing with pools
aren't obvious up front.
You probably want to set up a pool early. Resist the urge to use the
Default pool if you're going to have any size or complexity.
You don't have to fill in all the fields in a pool config. If you want
to send all the items from a particular group to a pool, you don't have
to click all the levels or try to list all the clients.
The client/group setups don't pick which pool to send data to. The pool
config picks which client/groups to receive data from.
The "capacity" figure for a tape does *not* set how much tape will be
used.
