We would never backup a save-set like this.... (and then expect to be
able to restore data to it)

Even though the backup server can 'see' this share, does not mean it
should be backed up as a share...
I think it would be best to backup the native partition that hosts the
disk space that the share is defined on... Let's say HOSTA:\F\Inetpub\
is the location where the share is defined, then you should have a
client defined as HOSTA with a save-set defined as "F:\". To restore any
data for the share, login to HOSTA and run Networker User to recover
data on the F:\ partition... Then whatever can access the 'share',
should now see the recovered data....

Subject: [Networker] Savesets of UNC Shares not browsable in Networker
User

Hi,

a hidden Windows UNC Share is backuped on Host B with legato 6.1 (unix).

Saveset of hostB:
\\hostA\inetpub$

The backup is successfully but when i try to recover with networker user
the saveset is not shown.

mminfo for the SSID returns:
Tape.01 HostB 10/22/07 23:07:56 324 MB 487664897 cb incr
\\HostA\inetpub$

the only thing what is possible is a saveset recover. in the networker
user client i can see the \\hosta\inetpub$ saveset but only in the
saveset recover mode and not in the normal recover mode where i can
browse the index (file and folder structure)....

can somebody help in this strange case?

thx
regards
rkariger
