Is there a similar function with networker? If not any recommendations what i should tell the IT manager to assure them of the tape quality without restoring all the data - we are migrating some netbackup clients to networker!
One option is to set up Auto Media Verify. This feature forces NetWorker
to read a small amount of data back from each block written and compare
it with data in its buffer. It doesn't verify absolutely everything
written but it is a useful check. In theory it decreases your write
speed by a tiny margin, but in practice you won't notice it.
This is controlled by a flag setting on each pool.
