I am not too sure about Disk Staging Glen but I have tested this many times
now that the index expiry is marked as per the retention period for the
backup server. What is your backup cycle...I mean how many days/months
between two full backups.

That also adds up to the total retention period.

Anuj

I've double-checked client resources for the Networker server - there is
only one client resource and it is set to 1 month. And jet all the tapes
are due to expire in a year time. Where does Networker get it from?

I forgot to mention - we are using Disk Staging. Though, I cannot see how it
can effect this as there are no retention levels to set in Disk Staging.

Glen

The retention period of index is the retention policy set for the client
resource configured for the backup server.

You can change the retention period of backup server for this.

If multiple client resources are configured for the backup server, it would
take the maximum retention policy set.

How to change retention period for indexes?

I've noticed that our tapes are not expiring.
I checked savesets on tapes and found the culprit: backup indexes.
I've checked browse & retention periods for the Networker server - both
periods are the same - 1 month - at yet these filesets come up as
recoverable. How can I change their retention?

Regards,

Glen
