We use DDS with NAS, sharing 5 LTO-2 tape drives between a Windows
Networker server and two EMC Celerra NAS filers.

We don't have any problems with regards to the device sharing, although
there are other issues with NDMP that we have been struggling with.
Hopefully, all those issues are now solved...

But if you're already having problem finishing your backups within the
time window, I wonder if "stealing" (during the NDMP backup) one of the
tape drives for NDMP backups is a good idea.
