look into the /etc/syslog.conf file and create a new line like this

local1.legato               /dev/null

the tape waiting messages for tapes are configured over the notification,be
pleasant,there are three notification

TAPE MOUNT REQUEST1
TAPE MOUNT REQUEST2
TAPE MOUNT REQUEST3

in the oncest there is the text

/usr/ucb/logger -p local0.alert

you have to edit the line into this

/usr/ucb/logger -p local1.legato

and so the output will run into /dev/null

do not change the other two notification because,this are the critical
messages,they should be exist!!

you can do this changing online,i have already tested it before i
implemented it fix.
