I haven't played with OSX's automounter, but the doc looks
encouraging...

I just tried my iPod--OSX didn't leave it mounted.  (Which makes
me wonder about the two times I've seen NetWorker backing up
an iPod!?!  Maybe it's 10.2 vs 10.3 thing.)
