IMHO, it would have been better to keep the default (and
backwards-compatible) behavior of not being interactive, but add an
option that people can use to enable the polling feature.
Still, what's done is done and I appreciate the background you've
provided on the issue. With Davina and others pointing out the option I
had missed to disable the interactivity, I'm now able to deposit tapes as
easily as I could two years ago. Ah, progress... ;-)
