Hi folks,

Bit late joining the discussion but thought I'd add by tuppence worth.....

I have successfully converted a NetWorker 6 server from Solaris to Linux and
from Solaris to Windows in the past. It *does* work though it is undoubtedly
unsupported by Legato.

Just use mmrecov to convert the media database to your new platform, copy
nsr.res and the client indexes across (I tar'd them first), lay them out in
the correct directories and fire up the daemons. The only gotcha I came
across was that the mmrecov didn't work from Solaris to Windows so.....I
used a Linux box as a stepping stone. Did the mmrecov on that server to
convert the indexes to x86 format then tar'd the whole nsr directory from
Linux and copied to my Windows server.

It all worked fine :-) Ran recoveries after the conversion and recovered
data which was backed up by NetWorker on the Solaris box.

YMMV, but it worked nicely for me!
