The other point worth mentioning is that you do not necessarily need the NMO
module. You can always script the Oracle DB to dump its data to disk and then
backup the resulting files with a standard client license. Not knowing your
environment, I cannot say whether this is appropriate, but it is an option.

Firstly, your client connection licenses will entitle you to back up as many
clients as you have licenses (but only the OS: see below)
For Application Specific Modules (NMO : module for Oracle) you need one license
for every physical Oracle Server you want to backup. IOW, if you have 5 oracle
servers in your org, then you need 5 X NMO licenses. However, if you have 5
different instances of Oracle on the same physical server, then one NMO license
will suffice.
If you have enough client connection licenses, then you MAY backup the OS of
the servers. You do not need an NMO license to just backup the OS.

Hi Folks
I am having trouble finding what clientpacks in general entitle me to
run... ie does a single NWM for Oracle entitle me to backup
5 oracle server if I have the appropriate no of clients for the 5 servers
and having those can I backup the OS as well.
Would someone point me in the right direction or send me some info? I am
using the Sun rebadged version at this stage.
Many thanks in advance
Richard.
