Itzik,

I am having big time problems with NDMP backups and NW7.0. When I do an NDMP
backup, it seems to work just fine. But if I start another backup, the tape
gets marked full and there are tons of messages in the daemon.log when it
attempts to mount the tape. There is no indication of any errors in the
netapp logs. I get similar errors from the netapp with a variety of messages.
I cannot believe this is a hardware issue, so I will be opening a case with
Legato. No backups ----> troubled sleep. I have not even gotten to the point
of trying to read the tapes.

I have a Spectralogic 40 slot/4 drive box with two AIT-2 drives connected to a
Dell 2550 runng redhad and 2 AIT-3 drives connected to the Netapp.

This does not make me particularly happy either:

06/25/03 16:41:06 nsrd: RAP error: there are more NDMP clients connected than
number of NDMP licenses.

Shelley,

2 things come to mind for you to check. What is the load sleep value on
your ndmp jukebox devices? Do you have only the first 8 characters of
your root password on the netapp entered into the password field in the
client setup? I suspect that this one is correct since you said you did
get a successful backup.
