Gary,
I might be asking the obvious, but is you jukebox properly recognized by
AIX? Does it have a proper device name after cfgmgr?
If so I would suggest that you remove the jukebox device (rmdev -dl
smcX). Leave alone the tape devices.
To check if the jbconfig will properly work try "/etc/LGTO*/sjirjc
b.t.l" where "b.t.l" is the "(pseudo) SCSI" address of the jukebox.
The command has to come back to you and report the description and
components of the jukebox.

This got fixed in 6.1.2 and above is patch
for 6.1.1.  I could be also 100% on the
wrong track as I'm just guessing here, but
AIX+6.1.1+fibre usually equals this LGTpa.

You may even try to go directly to 6.1.3
instead... You can just benefit as it is
last patch level.
