Stephen, unfortunately, that is a pretty generic error message, could be
lots of things.  Here are my suggestions...

1.  If you have support, contact them via phone right away. Restore issues
are top priority!
2.  Try a different file or save set, could help narrow the issue.
3.  Try a different client to see if you get the same type error.
4.  Try a restore on the server.

Granted, 2,3 and 4 don't get you back the file you need, but should help
you try to get more info.
