Hi

Yes, this would work. But a better way to get rapid recovery would be by
using a snapshot. This would quickly make an exact copy of your data; you
wouldn't have to do a traditional 'backup' (which involves a bulk movement
of the data from its original format into a saveset). When you restore, you
don't need to do a bulk movement of the data from a saveset to its original
form; the data is already in a usable form.

There are a variety of software and hardware methods of producing snapshots.
I happen to favor hardware-based snapshots; but, then again, I would :).

Subject: [Networker] Recovery 150GB

Hi,

I have this problem:

I would like to recover about 150GB users data. Because recovery is too
slow and time window is to short, I would like to devide recover to 2 part.

1. Full backup on weekend and recovery SSID (recover -s server -S ssid)
during working day on another server. This server will be a new server for
users data (during week will not be available for users, still old server
is available)
2. Next weekend recovery only increment SSID on new server, shut down old
server and new server will be available for users

Is this procedure acceptable or has another solution?

Thanks.
