Someone ran a script that inadvertently deleted more files from multiple
servers than was intended. The files deleted were several directory levels
down. It seems the best way to do a restore is using the graphical interface
and marking the folders two directories down with the option to "discard
files" (in other words do not restore files if the file exists on the
server). To go deeper in the directory structure and select subfolders
would mean opening up around 1000 folders. Unfortunately this deletion was
done on the day when the next full would run. This approach would seem to
take as long as doing a full restore since first the full will be read and
then each subsequent daily.

It would have helped, if wild cards could be used but there is no wild card
process. It also does not appear that the save set restore really is an
option though it would have saved a lot of time. Is it possible to run a
report of what files the backup has backed up over the last week. The actual
files that exist in certain directories and doing a comparison.

Currently running 6.1.1 on the backup server which is a UNIX HP version
11.x. The clients are NT servers still running 5.5.1 clients.
