I've got a 6.1 Solaris Networker Server. nsrjb reports that a tape is
recyclable,

slot volume used pool barcode recyclable
   ------------------------------------------------------
   23: CFD122 full Default CFD122 yes

But, mounting the tape causes it to be:

   drive 1 (/dev/rmt/1cbn) slot 23: CFD122 (mounted/write protected)

Using the scanner command to query the media:

   # scanner -vn /dev/rmt/1cbn
   scanner: Opened /dev/rmt/1cbn for read
   scanner: Rewinding...
   scanner: Rewinding done
   scanner: Reading the label...
   scanner: Reading the label done
   scanner: scanning dlt7000 tape CFD122 on /dev/rmt/1cbn
scanner: volume id 1772355073 record size 131072
     created 8/25/02 20:43:58 expires 8/24/04 20:43:58
     ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Note the created date and the expires date.

This tape was re-labeled on 8/25/02. I expected it to have an
expiration date 2 years hence, as it states in the above output.

When I use a Windoze Networker Administrator to get volume information,
it is reporting that CFD122 has expired. In addition, other tapes that
were labeled last month are reported with an expiration date of 1 month
from the re-labeling, instead of 2 years. If I scan the tape, as above,
I get the expected date.

The bottom line here is that Networker believes the 1 month expiration
date! WHY? And where is it getting this information from? ie, how can
I access this information (with what commandline)?

Thanks,

deb
