Hi,

Last night Bacula did something very weird - the director decided to recycle
volume "Daily05", but the storage daemon recycled "Daily04" which it had just
finished writing to!

I"m running Bacula 2.4.0 (as packaged in Debian), with all the daemons on the
same machine, backing up only one machine to a DDS-4 drive. The setup has
been running fine for well over a year and a half; the configuration last
changed nearly a year ago (to add a catalog for bweb). The only
recent significant change is the upgrade from Bacula 2.2.8 to 2.4.0, which
happened on July 12.

In more detail:
* I had mounted volume "Daily04", which was getting close to full, for the
Mon-Thu incremental backup (I'm running a daily/weekly/monthly scenario
similar to that in the documentation).
* The storage daemon spooled the data correctly, with one warning from the
file daemon concerning a file which presumably disappeared during the backup.
* The storage dameon unspooled the data to "Daily04", but reached the end of
the tape before it had finished unspooling.
* The director recycled "Daily05".
* The storage daemon recycled "Daily04" and proceeded to overwrite the tape
with the end of the backup!

Could this be a bug in 2.4.0? This was the first time since the upgrade that
a tape had to be recycled. I've never seen anything like this before with
Bacula...

Note that "Daily05" was relabeled from "Daily01" a while back; I can't
remember why now though.

I'm attaching the log of the backup as well as my configuration (with
sensitive data removed).

The daily volumes now say:
