Are you using Bacula's conio package?
I don't know. I haven't compiled it myself. I am using the Suse 10.3
RPM packages from the "rpms" section on SourceForge. This is what
ldd says about my bconsole binary:
ts@vm-backup:~> ldd /usr/sbin/bconsole
linux-gate.so.1 => (0xffffe000)
libtermcap.so.2 => /usr/lib/libtermcap.so.2 (0xb7fa9000)
libpthread.so.0 => /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0xb7f92000)
libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0xb7f8e000)
libssl.so.0.9.8 => /usr/lib/libssl.so.0.9.8 (0xb7f4b000)
libcrypto.so.0.9.8 => /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8 (0xb7e05000)
libstdc++.so.6 => /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6 (0xb7d17000)
libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0xb7cf1000)
libgcc_s.so.1 => /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 (0xb7ce5000)
libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0xb7bb2000)
/lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0xb7fb9000)
libz.so.1 => /lib/libz.so.1 (0xb7b9f000)
I see neither conio nor readline there.
If so, you could try recompiling with
configure --disable-conio, which will make it use readline if that is
available.
Yeah, I might do that. But I think it would be more desirable to get
the root problem solved for everybody.
Thanks,
Tilman
