The only thing to do is to create a device-class with type File.
Here is our configuration:

Device Access Strategy Sequential
Storage Pool Count 0
Device Type FILE
Format DRIVE
Est/Max Capacity 60G (Filesize for 1
volume)
Mount Limit 1
Mount Wait (min) -
Mount Retention (min) -

then, by unloading the db:
dsmserv unloaddb devclass=fdb scratch=yes
You should test this on another server, just to be shure.
